Bi Bim Bap - Korean Rice Bowl
Ingredients for 2 servings
2 bowls cooked sprouted brown rice
80 g minced beef
200 g spinach
1 1/2 carrots
1/2 bag soybean sprouts
Small amount grated garlic
1 teaspoon roasted sesame oil
Salt
100 g Korean pickles
Korean chilli sauce to taste
Shredded chilli pepper to taste
Sauce 1
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Small amount garlic
Small amount ginger
1 teaspoon roasted sesame oil
1 teaspoon ground sesame seeds
Sauce 2
1 tablespoon roasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons ground sesame seeds
Preparation
1. Put the minced beef, sauce 1 and 2 tablespoons of water into a saucepan, mix well and cook until the beef is loose.
2.Cut the spinach into 5-cm lengths and julienne the carrot. Blanch separately the soybean sprouts, spinach and carrot then drain.
3.Mix half of sauce 2 into the spinach and the other half into the soybean sprouts.
4. Season the carrots with sesame seed oil and salt..
5. Put the sprouted brown rice into a bowl and the beef, vegetables and Korean pickles on top then top with Korean chilli sauce and shredded chilli pepper to taste.
